SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) – Sonoma County inspectors shut down the biggest non-permitted industrial cannabis cultivation ever in the county final week.
Inspectors with the county’s Permit and Resource Management Division on Wednesday identified 5 properties south of Santa Rosa, but the majority of the 63,241 non-permitted plants had been identified at two properties, division spokeswoman Maggie Fleming stated.
Some of the plants had been interspersed with corn. One particular house had two.five acres of cannabis and the other had three.three acres, Fleming stated. The two properties are positioned in endangered California tiger salamander habitat. One particular develop contained 26,650 plants and the other had 36,685 plants.
Prior to Wednesday, the biggest illegal cannabis cultivation shut down in the county contained 13,000 plants, according to Fleming.
